TORONTO WEEKEND

#Kimpton #saintgeorge #toronto

Do you ever find yourself craving to explore new places but don’t have the time or budget for an international trip? If so, I feel you. That’s why I’m a huge proponent of taking mini getaways once in a while. Sometimes, all you need is a weekend trip to reset and cure your wanderlust blues. This past weekend was perfect for a Galentine’s Getaway filled with #SelfLove, which includes staying at Kimpton Saint George, face masks, listening to the Weeknd and exploring the BATA Shoe Musuem (YAS). Not to mention, indulging in snacks and trying new restaurants!

Let’s recap real quick –

Kimpton Saint George is a beautiful lifestyle hotel. What does it mean a hotel is ‘lifestyle’? Well, they do a damn good job with incorporating your every day needs with your stay. For instance, Saint George includes a yoga mat in the dressers, so your personal life better blends with your home away from home. It includes many aspects that makes your stay more comfortable and lovely; for example, the record player includes an array of great music to chill out on the sofas, or while your kicking back a glass of your favorite wine. There’s also a fitness center right on site. Or, if you prefer to get artsy, you can check out the BATA Shoe Museum right across the street.

I really enjoyed the in-room dining service from The Fortunate Fox. Their on-site restaurant offers a delicious breakfast spread, ranging from healthy fruit bowls to savory pancakes and waffles...makes you feel like you never want to get out of bed!

Also, you will notice that the Saint George has a HUGE mural of an owl on the side of their building - it's absolutely beautiful and it's wonderful to see how the hotel places an emphasis on the arts scene.

*BONUS* If you enjoy wine, Saint George offers wine hour from 5-6pm in their lobby, don't miss this amazing perk!

OTHER TORONTO MUST DO'S:

If you want to venture out for some brunch or a healthy dinner, I recommend going to Farmr, to try their conscious food menu. Their menu includes ingredients from nearby farmers so you know you're getting the best quality ingredients! I absolutely loved the Tomato & Basil Baked Eggs - definitely a dish I could eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner! If you want a bit more meat, I recommend the Spicy Turkey Meatballs! They are filling and yet deliciously crafted with a tad bit of spice.

Brunch vibes: Oretta

Dinner Vibes: Baro - this is an eclectic spot with a Latin menu including delicious ceviche. Secret: there's a speakeasy/club on the 3rd floor - you need a password. I was able to get in by asking the restaurant manager, it MIGHT just do the trick :)

If you catch yourself in Toronto, all these places will NOT disappoint. Wishing you all wonderful getaways - Happy Galentines!

Thank you to Saint George Hotel for the wonderful comped stay - it was a true gem that gave me a deeper experience into the culture of Toronto - until next time!
